Step 1 · Entry

You're in Prentice, a lead-response platform I built for home-service businesses. Watch what happens when a new lead arrives.

Step 2 · Lead arrived

At 9:12 PM, a homeowner submitted a quote form. Prentice turned it into an organized lead record, ready for the next step.

Step 3 · First touch

Seconds later, the homeowner receives a helpful first reply and a link to the survey, even at 9:12 PM.

Step 4 · Open the lead

The homeowner's contact details, survey responses, photos, and full activity history are waiting in one place, ready for the estimate.

Step 5 · Survey returned

Overnight, the homeowner completed the survey from her phone, adding room counts, square footage, and photos. Prentice updated the lead the moment she submitted, so when the owner checked in the morning, everything needed to prepare the estimate was already waiting.

Step 6 · Send estimate

The user sets the price in their estimate system, then uploads the finished estimate to Prentice. Prentice prepares the email for review and, once the user sends it, handles the follow-ups and reminders if the customer goes quiet.

Step 7 · Follow-up scheduled

If the homeowner doesn’t respond, Prentice schedules and sends the follow-ups automatically. The owner doesn’t have to remember when to check back.

Step 8 · Customer replied

When the homeowner replies, Prentice cancels the automatic follow-ups and lets the owner know it’s time to respond.

Step 9 · Close the loop

Mark the lead as won. The homeowner is now a biweekly recurring customer. Prentice kept the process moving while the owner stepped in only when their judgment was needed.

Step 10 · Complete

That’s Prentice. Look under the hood for a closer look at the systems behind the workflow.
